JALAN Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur will be closed in stages to make way for Mega Sales Carnival 2000 from today to Sunday.

Due to the closure of the stretch from the Jalan Raja Chulan junction to the Jalan Sultan Ismail junction, several diversions will be introduced.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is scheduled to launch the carnival on Aug 5.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall deputy director-general (Urban Management) Ruslin Hassan told a Press conference on Monday that from noon today until 9pm Friday, the left lane of Jalan Bukit Bintang (near KL Plaza) from Menara Keck Seng to Lot 10 would be closed.
