The fate of a much-awaited expansion plan to double space at the 10-year-old Oregon Convention Center is one project that may be hanging on the thread of a Bill Sizemore-proposed initiative.

Sizemore, Oregon's tax avenger, is working on a handful of ballot measure proposals that includes the "Taxpayer Protection Initiative."

The initiative would allow new taxes and fees to be enforced only if they pass muster with the electorate, The Taxpayer Protection Initiative also would repeal all taxes that have been enacted in the past two years. Money collected via those two-year-old or younger taxes would have to be returned to the people who paid them, according to the …
