Punch Networks adding $8M to gain clout.(Brief Article)

Dan Campi worried the sour market for Internet companies might hamper his efforts to raise money for his Web file-sharing company, Punch Networks Inc. of Seattle.

"The events have been a lime scary -- the market conditions and companies around town struggling," he said. "That's what keeps an Internet CEO up at night."

But Campi is resting easier now that he has secured about half of the $8 million he set out to raise a month ago. Punch's venture partner, Chartwell Capital Investors of Jacksonville, Fla., has decided to reinvest, as has the company's founder, David Campbell. New investor Crossroads Investment Advisers LP of Dallas has signed on as well.
