Shelving of power sector reforms disappoints PCCI.

While lauding this week's passage of economic-related bills such as the Safeguard Measures Act and the Securities Regulation Code, businessman yesterday expressed dissatisfaction over Congress' failure to approve need-ed reforms in the country's power sector.

In yesterday's general membership meeting of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), businessmen expressed disappointment that Congress failed to ratify the power sector reform bill, saying the measure is vital to making the local business community competitive against other Asian industries.
