AHMEDABAD, July 17: THE former Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (IPCL), Mr. K.G. Ramanathan, is joining the Reliance group. Mr. Ramanathan, who is to join as Director of Reliance Power in August, will await the commissioning of Gujarat Chemical Port Terminal Company Ltd (GCPTCL) at Dahej, scheduled for early August, before he takes over his new assignment. Reliance is one of the two potential takeover candidates for IPCL in its impending strategic divestment, the other being the Chatterjee-George Soros and the Indian Oil Corporation combine.
