A builder's huge Beach Park project should conclude in January
Leon Goldenberg leaves his footprints all, over Beach Park in Tampa -- the latest a 5,000-square-foot-plus set.
Goldenberg, 52, president and owner of Milford Custom Homes, specializes in the Mediterranean Revival style.
The historic Beach Park neighborhood off Westshore Boulevard now holds 12 of his designs, each capturing the spirit of a section of Tampa he loves and lives in, each design unique.
His latest project might offer Goldenberg his biggest challenge -- and reward -- since the architect started his custom homebuilding business 12 years ago.
The massive structure on Sylvan Ramble -- a residential project using commercial-building specifications -- will take 15 months before it's complete in January. In its infancy, it looked more like the product of a child's Erector Set fantasies than that of an accomplished architect with a master's degree from Harvard University.
But Goldenberg -- small and soft spoken but with huge vision when it comes to seeing a project through -- loves this house and the hurdles it presents.
