Texas Instruments (TI, Box 655474, Dallas, TX 75265; Tel: 972/995-2011, Fax: 972/995-4360) said that Plus Corp. - one of its customers for digital light processing (DLP) technology - had developed two new microportable projectors each weighing less than three pounds. Both projectors ate capable of delivering 80 ANSI lumens of brightness with either SVGA or XGA resolution.
The new products have been designated the U3-1080 (XGA) and the U3-880 (SVGA), and both feature an on/off contrast ratio of 800:1. Their first public showing in North America is expected at Infocomm International in Anaheim, California, from June 15-17, 2000.
