The Bureau of Immigration has temporarily suspended the processing and issuance of special investor's resident visa (SIRV) until it is able to adopt more effective measures to limit this to legitimate foreign investors.

SIRV allows foreign investors with at least US$75,000 in actual investments to acquire permanent resident status.
