A Milwaukee-area organization intent on linking technology entrepreneurs with investment capital and other support is beginning to take shape.

The group, called eInnovate.org Inc., is holding a kickoff meeting the evening of May 9 at the Italian Conference Center in Milwaukee's 3rd Ward to explain the group's mission and recruit members.

The organization was founded by business leaders concerned that fledgling technology firms were failing or moving out of state because they weren't getting the support they need to grow, said Syed Alam, president of SoftGear Corp., a Waukesha software developer, and founder of eInnovate.
