90 mil. yen malpractice suit filed after suicide Yomiuri TAKAMATSU A 52-year-old man and his family have filed a lawsuit with the Takamatsu District Court for about 90 million yen in damages from a doctor at a medical clinic, claiming that the man's wife committed suicide because her right leg had to be amputated as a result of damage caused when the doctor mistakenly removed an artery instead of a vein, it was learned Tuesday. According to the plaintiffs, who live in Kanonji, Kagawa Prefecture, doctors at Kunita Clinic in the city diagnosed the 52-year-old woman in June 1999 as having varicose veins that stretched from her thighs to her ankles.
