PENANG, June 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) Office based in Songkhla will be closed in October after a review of the committee's function as Malaysia no longer faced an armed communist threat since 13 years ago.
Joint chairman of the RBC, Lt Jen Datuk Zaini Mohamed Said, said the RBC office will be replaced with a Border Coordination Office (BCO).
The BCO in Malaysia will be based in Alor Setar while in Thailand, its location has yet to be decided, he told reporters after chairing the 74th RBC meeting here today.
