About 70% of Lone Star State companies that export to China have fewer than 500 employees

Texas companies exported $583 million worth of goods to China in 1998, a 46% increase since 1993. During the same five-year period, Dallas exports to China grew by $92 million.

That growth is only the beginning for Texas' businesses and workers. The trade agreement that the U.S. House of Representatives passed last week will open up tremendous new opportunities in China. The House vote was the right vote to keep our economy growing and our nation strong. The Senate must now decide whether to normalize our trade relationship with China and help U.S. firms take advantage of China's market …
