Banks now offer small-business customers courier service for deposit drop-offs

The trip to the bank used to be part of Larry King's routine every day, and not an altogether welcome one.

King, co-owner of Columbus-based Capital Lighting Inc., a lighting retailer and wholesaler with 52 employees, says he used to spend hours each week on bank runs.

"Whether you did the drive-through or walked in, it still was a half-hour, 45 minutes every day trying to get to the bank," he says. "... I used to make daily plans to know to run in this direction and that direction to make sure I could get yesterday's deposit dropped off.

"Then, of course, you've got to hang on to the receipt while you're out running around."
