Squeezed by high rents and virtually nonexistent space, Digidesign is relocating from Palo Alto to a new mixed-use project near the Daly City BART station.

The digital-audio production company, which makes the hardware and software systems behind the recordings of music stars such as Madonna, Ricky Martin and Mariah Carey, will be the first office tenant at Pacific Plaza, a 10-acre project along Junipero Serra Boulevard.

The $160 million, 720,000-square-foot business and entertainment campus is being developed by Summit Commercial Properties and Mack-Cali Realty Corp.
