The law firm Lippes Silverstein Mathias & Wexler LLP appointed three new associates: Brian Bocketti, who earned his degree and environmental law certificate from the University at Buffalo in 1998 and is 2000-2001 secretary of the New York State Bar Association commercial and federal litigation section; Kevin Cross, who graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 1996 and was editor-in-chief of the "Villanova Environmental Law Journal"; and Joseph Laino, who got his degree from UB in 1999, earning the Charles Dautch Award for proficiency in real property law coursework.

Janet Hansen-Moyes was named interim executive director of United Cerebral Palsy of Western New York Inc. She joined the organization in 1975 as a program aide and has served as associate executive director for several years. A Buffalo resident, she has a master's degree in education from the University at Buffalo.
