Boots the Chemist is planning to introduce laser hair removal treatments into its stores in the UK. A trial will commence in seven outlets this autumn which, if successful, could be rolled out in more than 200 stores.

The company claims it will be using `state of the art technology, operated by trained and qualified nurses to offer highly effective treatment for unwanted hair'. The laser units will be supplied by Coherent, `the world's leading commercial laser company'. Boots expects that each laser session will last between 15 minutes to treat a small area of the face, and 1.5 hours for hair removal on a leg.
