Results of a murine study of viral infection on natural killer T cells in the liver were presented at the 56(th) Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, recently held in San Diego, California.
J.A. Hobbs and R.R. Brutkiewicz of the Indiana University School of Medicine described their findings, which indicate that viral replication reduces the numbers of natural killer T cells in the liver very early during an infection.
