3Com hires Lowe Lintas for [pounds]100m awareness drive.

3Com, the US networking giant, has selected Lowe Lintas & Partners to handle a global advertising and brand awareness campaign, estimated to be worth more than $160m ([pounds]100m).

The through-the-line push, targeted at consumers and small-to-medium enterprises, will seek to position 3Com as a brand which offers products which are "simple, reliable and easy to use".

Previous 3Com advertising, through FCB Worldwide, focused on the specialist press.

The appointment of Lowe Lintas follows a four-way pitch against FCB and the New York offices of Y & R Advertising and Ogilvy.
