MUMBAI, May 29. WORLD centrifugal sugar production in 2000-01 is forecast at 124.4 million tonnes (raw value), down six per cent from the record level set last year and the lowest outturn in four years, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has said in its latest World Sugar Situation report.
Sugar produced from sugarcane is forecast at 89.8 m.t., six per cent less than last season, and those processed from sugarbeet is forecast at 34.6 m.t., down eight per cent from last year.
