IRVING -- Columbia/HCA North Texas Division says it will terminate its contract with Cigna Health Care of Texas Inc., effective June 1, because the insurer is unwilling to pay for necessary medical services that other health plans now pay.

The dispute revolves around care for catastrophic illnesses and injuries.

"Our facilities are committed to providing the highest quality of care and in order to do that, we must make certain that decisions with regard to treatment are not restricted by an insurer's refusal to provide the appropriate level of financial support," said William D.
