ENTELLIUM Sdn Bhd has come up with business tools based on extensible markup language (XML) technology to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) compete with the bigger players in the application service provider (ASP) market.

Its chief executive officer Paul Johnston said using a concept called "the entellium way", the company is showing SMEs a smarter way of doing business which reduces complexity of the business processes.

He added that in the ASP market, global networks are based on transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP), and the invention of XML allows users to program the Web to be more intelligent.
