AssistGuide grows, moves headquarters from Hawaii.(Brief Article)

A high-tech company launched two years ago in Hawaii is trading white sand beaches for a home in west St. Louis County.

AssistGuide.com, which helps people locate long-term care facilities, also is expanding operations. The company hopes to raise $500,000 to $750,000 to take the Internet-driven business to 15 cities, including St. Louis, said cofounder Patrick Heffern, who lives here.

"All the investors are from St. Louis," he said. Some of them contacted the company after AssistGuide made a presentation at the Missouri Venture Forum in February.
