Cardinal Health Inc., the largest publicly traded company based in Central Ohio, has named its first full-time community affairs coordinator.

Beth Catlett, a former marketing coordinator at Retail Planning Associates in Columbus, said she persuaded executives at the $25 billion health care giant to create the position six months after she arrived as an executive assistant at the Dublin headquarters.

"With a company as big as ours is, we need to focus on this," Catlett said.

Her job involves working with 1,200 Cardinal employees and top executives in Dublin to direct the company's volunteer and philanthropic efforts.
