The Denver Public Library should be commended for not forgetting about the past.

The library always has played a strong role in rescuing bits of Colorado history that might otherwise have been forgotten about, and then making that information available to the public through its Western History Department.

Now, the library is undertaking a project to make sure that the history of blacks in Denver and in Colorado will be remembered, and passed on to future generations.

In the works is the African American Research Library, which will be temporarily housed in to the Western History Department at the Central Library downtown until a permanent space can …
