Cabal Communications, the publishing company set up by Sally O'Sullivan in 1998, has suffered a setback with the departure of its managing director and co-founder, Andy Sutcliffe.

Sutcliffe, who is understood to have left last week, refused to comment on his departure but it is thought that his exit was prompted by a personal clash with O'Sullivan. It appears that he has left the company without a job to go to.

O'Sullivan, Cabal's chief executive, was unavailable for comment as Campaign went to press.

Before setting up Cabal, Sutcliffe worked with O'Sullivan at IPC where he was editor-in-chief of IPC's music and sports group.
