Borneo: Mystery virus kills two children in Sarawak, tests ongoing.

MIRI - Two children, a one-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy, were suspected to have died from a mysterious killer virus at the Miri Hospital recently.

They died shortly after being admitted to the hospital on March 15 and 17 respectively.

The health authority said on Tuesday it had yet to identify the virus that killed the two children, adding that a test was being conducted on samples taken from the two victims.

"From information we have so far, there are indications of viruses causing the illness, but this is yet to be confirmed," Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Abu Bakar Suleiman said in statement on Tuesday.
