Proxima Corp. (9440 Carroll Park Dr., San Diego, CA 92121; Tel: 619/457-5500) announced the industry's first comprehensive family of five-pound, ultraportable projectors featuring the latest Texas Instruments (TI) Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology. DLP is a MEMS-based technology that fabricates thousands of micromirrors and has been used successfully in projection displays and motion picture equipment.
Weighing in at five pounds each, the Proxima UltraLight DS2, DX2, and DX3 comprise the industry's first and only line of lightweight projectors that feature both a zoom lens and digital keystone correction with on-screen display for the best possible image in any environment. The company's new DLP-based projectors deliver whisper-quiet operation, portability, and high resolution packed into easy-to-use products.
"We are delighted that Proxima has selected DLP to support this new projector family," says Bob England, Sr. VP and manager of Texas Instrument's Digital Imaging Division.
