Hotel occupancy increases in most sectors

Moderately priced accommodations sustain greatest occupancy increase

San Francisco's newest category of hotels, the moderately priced, good quality "B " hotels, sustained the greatest increase in occupancy rates in San Francisco during the first half of the year, reported Laventhol & Horwath, an accounting firm that tracks hotels.

Fisherman's Wharf hotels continued with the highest occupancy rates in the city, even though occupancy rates decreased to 83 percent from 84 percent.

The B hotels rose to 82 percent occupancy from 79 percent occupancy rates, the firm reported.
