BoI seen to put up mediation body for warring business partners.

The Board of Investments (BoI) is considering a mediate body to look into disputes involving local businesses and their foreign partners to help ensure viability of whatever investments left for the country to count on.

BoI governor Antonio Leviste told reporters he has already proposed setting up such a mechanism in light of the alarming instances of business partners engaged in standoffs involving franchise agreements and the like.

"I am saddened at what is happening in the country that in addition to the trickle of foreign investments, (investors) who are here get involved with lawsuits," he said.
