Hearing that a new women's lifestyle site was in town, I admittedly let out a cynical sigh. Do we really need yet another site created exclusively for grown-up Barbie doll types? I thought not. So it was with a bit of hesitation that I visited Bern ecom.

The site left me pleasantly surprised. Beme.com is more tough than fluff and provides an intelligent alternative to its handbagged competition. The site's six colour-coded channels are divided into interests such as home life, news, consumer, culture and entertainment.
