If you're looking for American Medical Association President Tom Reardon, just follow the presidential campaign trail.

Reardon, a Portland family practitioner, called last week from the airport in Des Moines, Iowa, where he'd landed to promote the AMA's National House Call 2000 prior to the Iowa caucuses. His next campaign stops: New Hampshire, New York and California.

The National House Call campaign aims to focus voter, and presidential candidate, attention on legislation that affects people's health and well-being. The cross-country activism is a first for the AMA, which has long refrained from endorsing any candidates.
