Arabian Oil's survival hinges on tough choices Hiroyuki Nakamura Yomiuri The survival of Tokyo-based Arabian Oil Co. is in danger in light of the expiration Monday morning of its drilling rights in the Saudi Arabian portion of Kafji oil field. The loss of the concession will cause the company to lose about half its oil production and sales. Consequently, the oil company, already suffering from financial difficulties, will be forced to make cutbacks and examine the possibility of merging with another oil company to survive.
