Executives outside of Central Maryland might never have to spend half a day driving Maryland's highways to reach the Baltimore area if a plan to connect regional airports to Baltimore/ Washington International Airport takes off.
The Maryland Aviation Administration last week sent out feelers to about 25 airlines to drum up support for the plan to connect three regional airports -- in Cumberland, Hagerstown and St Mary's County--to BWI (www.bwiairport.com), said John White, a spokesman for the aviation administration, which runs BWI. Salisbury's airport, which would be part of a network, already has daily flights to BWI.
