Dallas-based bank set to expand into San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO - Texas Capital Banc shares caused quite a stir last year when it opened for business with an initial capitalization of $80 million, the backing of high-profile investors like B.J. "Red" McCombs and an Internet banking subsidiary.

So far, the Dallas-based bank holding company has lived up to expectations, accumulating $285 million in deposits and $408 million in total assets during its first six months in operation, according to bank officials, who predict that the company's assets will reach $1 billion by the end of this year and $2 billion within five years.
