The University of Pennsylvania Medical Center received a $6.5 million, five-year grant from the National Institutes of Health to establish the Penn Center of Excellence for Autoimmune Disease.

"Our goal for the center is to try to translate knowledge from basic science into clinical practice," said Dr. Mohamad Rostami, a professor of neurology who will serve as director of the new center.
