Share prices sank to a two-month low yesterday, spooked by controversies regarding alleged price rigging as well as burdened by the lack of positive news, brokers said.
The 33-share Philippine Stock Exchange composite index (Phisix) slumped for the sixth straight session by 1.33%, or 25.24 points, to 1,869.71, its lowest since Dec. 16, 1998.
The broader All Shares index, meanwhile, slipped 4.59 points, or 0.71%, to 643.86.
Market turnover slightly broadened 26.55% to P2.152 billion. Paper deliveries, meanwhile, thinned 5% to 6.26 billion shares.
Losers outnumbered gainers 53 to 49 while the prices of 53 issues were unchanged.
