Parent of Dallas Morning News funds large-scale e-business platform, with integrated class ads, auctions, e-mail marketing

On the heels of its successful advertising installation at the Dallas Morning News, the paper's corporate parent, Belo, announced last week an alliance between its subsidiary Belo Interactive, Inc. and CText. The purpose of the alliance with CText is to develop a new Web-integrated software product that will support Belo's ambitious plans to run advertising and e-business services on its Web sites.

The system is based on the adcommerce product CText has been independently working on since its debut at the Nexpo newspaper show last June. Now CText has the full support of a live customer to fund and specify an expanded view of the original system, which is designed for classified ads.
