Crossbow Technology Inc. (41 E. Daggett Dr., San Jose, CA 95134; Tel: 408/965- 3300, Fax: 408/324-4840) said it had received a major order from BEELINE Navigator Inc. (Fresno, CA) to provide inertial sensors for the company's precision GPS (global positioning system) guidance system. The BELINE Navigator allows 24-hr. operations, unaffected by poor light, glare, or duct, increasing the utilization of existing farm and heavy equipment machinery.
Crossbow's DMU-VGX solid-state gyro, employed in the BEELINE Navigator, outputs accurate pitch and roll angles under dynamic conditions. Working with GPS satellite data, the DMU-VGX enables the BEELINE Navigator to provide hands-free vehicle operation, with an absolute positioning accuracy of under an inch.
"Reliability was a key consideration in our decision to use Crossbow's solution," states John Hill, CEO of BEELINE Navigator Inc. He adds that the company sells their navigator on the basis of accuracy and quality, and that Crossbow sensors ensure that the equipment is going in a straight line, not missing anything, and not doubling up either.
