Brunei: UBD Thursday Club discusses the economic crisis.

The UBD Thursday Club discussion series resumed yesterday afternoon with an open discussion entitled, "The Economic Crisis and Lessons for the Future".

The facilitator for the discussion was Dato Seri Paduka Hj Selamat bin Hj Munap, the deputy Minister of Finance.

Dato Hj Selamat began the session by stating that the economic crisis in Brunei, which was triggered primarily by a drop in oil prices, was more of an economic slowdown rather than an economic crisis of the same magnitude as that which hit Thailand, Indonesia or Malaysia.
