KUALA LUMPUR,Jan 20 (Bernama) -- Citibank and Salomon Smith Barney dominated the 1999 IFR Awards for the banking and capital markets industry at the IFR Asia Annual Awards presentation in Hong Kong recently.

The two-firm combination was named "Asian Bank of the Year" for 1999 by the industry publication.

The award, given by IFR Asia Editor Richard Jory, was accepted by Avinder Bindra, Managing Director and Head of Loans Syndications for Asia at Citibank and Sanjiv Misra, Managing Director and Co-Head of Asian Investment Banking at Salomon Smith Barney.
