PUTRAJAYA, Dec 30 (Bernama) -- The ceiling price for chicken, now at RM6 per kg, will be reviewed after Chinese New Year in February in the wake of calls that the government lower it to RM5.40 a kg.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told reporters discussions on the proposed review would involve various quarters, including consumer associations, so that the price-fixing mechanism would be widely understood.

"The chicken ceiling price may go up or may come down (from RM6) but we'll fix it a reasonable price commensurate the prevailing situation," he said after chairing a meeting of the Cabinet committee on essential goods at the National …
