Delta Air Lines is among the world's major air carriers, serving, 184 domestic cities in 44 states and 42 cities in 29 foreign countries. In Rhode Island, Delta is the third busiest of 14 carriers at T.F. Green Airport, behind Southwest Airlines (first) and US Airways. From January 1999 through October 1999, some 529,768 passengers traveled on Delta through Green Airport. That was a reduction of 5.65 percent from the previous year. Delta was the only airline at Green to experience a reduction in travelers at the airport. For the three months that ended Sept. 30, Delta reported a 2 percent increase in revenues to $3.88 billion, with net income up 8 percent to $349 million. Net income also reflects a $137 million gain as a result of the sale of the Singapore Airlines investment. …
