Ben Line embarks on path of expansion.

WHILE other shipping agencies and lines took stock of business rationalisation, consolidation and mergers in 1999, Ben Line Agencies (M) Sdn Bhd - one of the oldest shipping agencies in the country - embarked on the path of expansion.

Ben Line Agencies managing director Simon Whitelaw said the people at the agency had their hands full coping with the expansion of services by their principals, the shift to new offices in Penang, Johor Baru and Shah Alam, and the setting up a joint venture shipping agency with one of its major principals.

"There have been so many activities since January - new development, new services and getting ourselves organised for the future farmework," he said in an interview in Shah Alam recently.
