KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 25 (Bernama) -- Seven Thai fishermen were rescued but scores more were feared drowned after the four boats they were in capsized in the South China Sea, near the Mangkok oil rig, about 120 nautical miles off the Kuala Terengganu coast last Tuesday.
State Fisheries Department Director Abdul Rahman Mohamad said today four of the fishermen were rescued by a Petronas oil exploration vessel, "Permint Tenang", after five hours adrift in the sea.
The other three drifted to the Mangkok oil rig and were rescued by workers there on Thursday, he told Bernama, here, today.
