CHRISTMAS is over but the holiday mood still lingers especially when a carnival-like atmosphere is building up in the city to usher the new millennium. Hotels and entertainment outlets are outdoing one another, offering the public packages to choose from to celebrate the start of the new year.

It will not only be a night to remember for revellers but also the hotels which have in the past few years suffered because of the economic crisis. The hotels will be able to report "good" business for this year.

Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel public relations manager Sumithra Balraj- Dass said the hotel received a large number of enquiries from the public regarding its Christmas and millennium packages.

She said many enquiries and paid bookings for the New Year's Eve have been received for both the Renaissance Gala 2000 and Millennium Dining Fiesta packages.
