Force 3, an information-technology solutions provider, has scaled back its local engineering team, laying off some 30 employees due to a shortage of new contracts, according to company officials.
Force 3's local operation is part of the Crofton, Md.-based company's Engineering Services Division, its fastest growing unit. The office was established approximately 21 months ago to perform work on a Department of Defense project to build a highspeed Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) network linking 135 Department of Defense (DoD) hospitals -- including Wilford Hall and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
