The number of Canadian day trippers spending time in Western New York increased by 15.1 percent in September, according to Statistics Canada. A total of 314,983 Canadians paid overnight visits to the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area, up from 273,737 a year earlier. The Peace Bridge was the favorite crossing point in both years.
