NEWARK -- As Yogi Berra would say, "It's deja vu all over again" in Licking County.

A recent appeal of an annexation ruling by the Licking County commissioners is stirring memories of a similar case that landed in the laps of the Ohio Supreme Court last year.

In that one, commissioners had rejected land owner Gebhard Keny's plans to annex 281 acres from Granville Township to Newark so that M/I Schottenstein Homes Inc. could develop a subdivision on the property. But the state's highest court overturned the commissioners' decision last year, allowing the annexation to proceed.
