Dear Editor: President Estrada should start listening to the middle forces.
As the popularity rating of Pres. Estrada plummets with the runaway cost of living and with no prospect of relief in sight, driving the great majority of our people into near desperation, dangerous forces will be stirring to take advantage of the vulnerability of an increasingly discredited and ineffectual administration in disarray.
There are the restive extreme rightist forces that may feel called upon once again to take upon themselves the messianic role to "save the republic."
And there are the extreme leftist forces whose strength and number grow in direct ratio to the extent and depth of popular discontent, misery and disenhancement.
