Rick Studer admits to making mistakes in life, but one book has helped him avoid more than his share.

"I've made huge life mistakes, but slowly and fortunately I've come to see the overpowering strength in principles, character and values," said Rick Studer, partner, Clary Communications in Columbus.

In the early 1990s someone recommended Studer read Stephen R. Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change.
